Don't get blinded by scienceI’ve just been reading an article about 13 things that don’t make sense. I’m sure there are more than 13 things that don’t make sense, but this particular piece questions 13 accepted scientific theories and raises doubts over their validity. I was amazed by how easily Michael Brooks shoots these theories down and it roused my curosity in the science world. There’s plenty of software about that can help you unravel the mysteries of the physical, chemical and biological worlds, and here are some of my faves:

  • Periodic Table – Swot up on the elements that make up our planet
  • Model ChemLab – Interactive chemistry laboratory simulation
  • PhysProf – Study physics using 3D graphs and diagrams
  • ArgusLab – Model complex molecular structures on your PC
  • Starry Night – View realistic simulations of over one million stars
  • Microsoft Math – Solve complex maths and science problems in a flash
  • RPN Engineering Calculator – Get instant solutions to engineering problems
  • BiblioExpress – Search for and collect references to aid your research
  • Virtual Microscope – Simluate a real microscope and study organisms
  • Populus – Modelling application for students of biology and ecology
